    Courtesy visit to AKSU by Jairus Agro Solutions

    Jairus Agro Solutions visits Akwa Ibom State University
     
    On Monday, the 8th of October 2018, the team from Jairus Agro Solutions Abuja paid a courtesy visit on the Management of Akwa Ibom State University. They came to make a presentation on the development of 8000 metric tones of Tilapia per annum using Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology and 6,000 Holstein Friesian Heifers Cattle which will produce 150,000 litres of milk daily using an Integrated Aquaculture complex, with feed mill.

    Led by Engr. Idaresit Ekpo (Executive Director Operations) and other members of the Company Board, Jairus Agro Solution made a request for some 2,000 hectares of land among other things in other to site their proposed project facility.
    Mr. Ekpo also posisited that the proposed project-tract will make 300,000 gallons per month of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) of approximately 570,000 standard cubic feet of gas per day, flaring in Akwa Ibom State, that would be cooled to minus -161 degrees Celsius using liquefaction process with end point result
    being a clean, colorless, odorless product known as LNG. The process according to him, will remove all the low concentrations, water and other inert gases to have 98% pure methane gas called LNG for export and 20% would be used within Nigeria through our fuel cell generators to power mobile cell phone towers, small and big business in Nigeria.
    Engr. Ekpo went further to state that Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) Students in the Agriculture faculty would have their hands-on practical mechanized farming and learning practically on hydroponics farming, scholarships and witness the most modern method of fish culturing using RAS.
    In his response, the Vice-Chancellor - Prof. Eno Ibanga, appreciated the team for finding time to visit the University to discuss their lofty ideas with Management. He requested that Jairus Agro Solutions should take time and clarify some grey areas in their proposal, so that the University can be in a better position to take a more informed decision on the proposed project.
    Prof. Ibanga also took time to run through the impressive profile of Akwa Ibom State University, while appreciating the huge role that the Akwa Ibom State Government has played in the rising growth and development of the institution. He appreciated Governor Udom Emmauel for his uncommon passion to the free and compulsory education project. The Vice-Chancellor informed the visitors that AKSU has as one of her core objectives, the provision of food to help feed and sustain the growing populace.
    Other senior staff of the University thereafter took turns to interact with the team from Jairus Agro Solutions.
